I’M SHOCKED!
The Republican Party received only an $140,000 campaign donation
for allowing a startup company with a track record of fines and violations from
insurance regulators to take over nearly 60,000 policies from Citizens
Insurance.
Surely Governor Scott could have held out for a lot more.
After all an agent usually gets at least ten per cent of a deal, which in this
case would be about $5.2 million.
This topic could get me going big time as we're covered (to some degree) by Citizens. Of course we keep paying more to them one way or another, and they keep looking for ways to get rid of us and other policy holders. Homeowners insurance remains one of the downsides of living in Fla, and I doubt it gets better before it gets worse. One bad hurricane will blow away even more protection for residents!
